20-year-old boy rapes teenage girl, slits her nose in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh: In a major incident, a 20-year-old boy in Bareilly, fled after he allegedly raped and assaulted a teenage girl. Meanwhile, the accused has been identified as Gautam Raidas. The accused has allegedly slit the girl's nose with a knife and raped her while she was home alone. As per the report, the girl is a school dropout and she was alone at home. The 16-year-old rape survivor's parents are the labourers.

How it happened?

The incident took place on Sunday morning at Shardanagar area of Lakhimpur Kheri. According to the information, the girl's parents had left for work and the victim was home alone. During the afternoon, Gautam forcibly entered the house with a knife in his hand. Meanwhile, Gautam locked the house from the inside and slit her nose while the victim was trying to raise an alarm.

What happened next?

Soon after he slit the victim's nose, the accused allegedly raped her and escaped from the spot. However, the injured minor girl managed to approach her neighbours and asked for help. Likewise, the neighbours took her to a hospital and informed her parents about the same.

Police complaint registered

In a meanwhile, the police lodged a complaint against the accused. Kotwali SHO Ajay Mishra said that the girl is a member of the minority community. The police has registered a case under Section 376 (rape), 326 (causing hurt with a dangerous weapon), 504 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
