Breaking News: Centre agrees to send Sikh pilgrims to Pakistan on Baisakhi

The government of India, which earlier denied permission to Sikh pilgrims to visit Pakistan in February, has now agreed to send a Jatha to the neighbouring country on the eve of Baisakhi. As per the report, the Union Home Ministry sent a fax message in this regard to the Chief Secretaries of States that mentioned the detailed programme for Jatha. Reportedly, the Sikh pilgrims would be on a visit to Pakistan for 11 days beginning April 12. The Jatha will cross the Wagha border on foot on April 12 and visit the Gurudwara Panja Sahib Hasan Abdal by road. On April 13, the Jatha will stay there and visit Wali Kandhari Shrine. On April 14, the main function of Baisakhi will be held at Gurudwara Panja Sahib Hasan Adbal in Pakistan. Later, it will depart for Gurudwara Sri Nankana Sahib by road. On April 15, the pilgrims will visit the local Gurudwaras at Sri Nankana Sahib while on April 16, they will visit Gurudwara Sacha Sauda and will return back to Nankana Sahib on the same day. On April 17, it will leave for Gurudwara Dera Sahib, Lahore, and will stay there on April 18 as well. Likewise, On April 19, it will visit Gurudwara Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur, by road and stay there. The government, which denied permission to Sikh pilgrims to visit Pakistan, has now agreed to send Jatha to neighbouring country on Baisakhi. On April 20, it will leave for Gurudwara Rori Sahib by road and will return to Lahore by evening while on April 21, it will stay at Gurudwara Dera Sahib Lahore and return to India the next day through the Wagah border itself.
