Breaking News : India enters Asia Cup final for women
India has set title clash with China in Asia Cup Hockey Tournament for women at Gifu today. While India defeated the hosts Japan 4-2, China defeated South Korea 3-2 to make it to the gold medal round.
India remains the only undefeated team in the tournament so far as South Korea, the only other unbeaten team till the last four round, went down fighting to China in the first semi-final.
India had beaten China 4-1 in an earlier round robin league encounter. India's emphatic 4-2 win over Japan, the hosts,
is a great morale booster as India is looking for the title in Gifu. In the last edition of the Tournament, India were bronze medalists.
Now Japan will play Korea for the bronze medal while India will take on China in the gold medal game on Sunday.
In case Indian women win the gold medal, it will be a grand double for the country as the men team has already won the gold medal in just concluded event at Dhaka.
