CAA protests: Airtel, Idea and Jio suspend mobile services in parts of Delhi
CAA protests: Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio on Thursday have suspended their mobile services, including voice and internet, in several parts of Delhi following a government directive on Monday in the wake of expected protests in the national capital. The suspension of Bharti Airtel services came into effect after 10 AM. Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel was quoted by ANI as saying, "We're complying with instructions received from government authorities on suspending Voice, SMS and data in certain areas in Delhi. According to the information, Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio have also suspended their services in various parts of Delhi. The sources also revealed that Vodafone Idea has shut down voice, data and SMS from 9 am to 1 pm in some parts of the national capital. Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal addressed media persons on being asked about protests over Citizenship Act. He said, "Today, law and order situation in the country is deteriorating. There is a fear among all citizens today. I appeal to the central government to not bring this law but give employment to the youth." -PTC News
