Cabinet Expansion: HC issues notice to 9 Ministers in Captain's Cabinet In a major move, Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday issued a notice to the Punjab Government, Central government, along with the 9 new minsters added in the Cabinet last week. The High Court seeks reply by 9 May in the same case. Hours before nine Punjab MLAs were to take oath as ministers on Saturday, a public interest litigation was filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Petitioner Jagmohan Bhatti stated in the PIL that their appointment was contrary to law as it exceeds the 15 percent norm. A request was made to the high court to fix the matter on Saturday itself as they were to take oath in the evening. The high court refused to hear the matter on Saturday and fixed the petition for Monday. The new cabinet ministers include Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria, Vijay Inder Singla, Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Sunder Shyam Arora, OP Soni, Rana Gurmit Sodhi, Gurpreet Kangar and Balbir Sidhu.
