On the occasion of Eid al Fitr 2021, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh Friday announced Malerkotla as the 23rd district of the state.
Captain Amarinder Singh also announced Rs 6 crore for the development of Malerkotla which has now been declared as the 23rd district of Punjab.
Ahmedgarh, Amargarh, and Malerkotla have been included in this newly announced district of the state. For girls, Punjab CM announced a college worth Rs 12 crore. Besides, there will be a bus stand and a separate police station for women.
Even as the Chief Minister announced that the new Deputy Commissioner (DC) will be appointed soon. Also, he announced a Medical college worth Rs 500 crore.
The college will be named after Sher Muhammad Khan, he said, announcing Rs 50 crore to start the work of the medical college.
The announcement came during Captain Amarinder Singh’s greeting to the Muslim community on the occasion of Eid 2021.
Malerkotla, a Muslim-dominated area, would now be the 23rd district of the state, as the Chief Minister announced a gift on the occasion of Eid 2021.
