Captain Amarinder Singh asks Centre to release 1st instalment of projects funds under Swadesh Darshan Scheme

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has sought immediate release, from the central government, of the first tranche of the funds for the projects approved under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme a year ago. The Chief Minister has sent a letter to Union Minister of State for Tourism Prahlad Singh Patel in this regard.

Seeking the release of the first instalment of 30% of the total of Rs. 99.95 Crores worth of the state projects, approved under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme, the Chief Minister pointed out that these projects were approved back in September 2018.

Underlining the importance of the projects to Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh noted that many important initiatives, including development of Hussainiwala Border area and Saragarhi Memorial in Ferozepur, were part of these. In his letter, the Chief Minister further mentioned that Punjab Tourism Minister had also raised this issue with the Union Minister during their meeting last month.
