Carjackers strike in Mohali again; take away Swift Dzire at gunpoint
The carjackers strike again in the city. Three miscreants forcibly took away a car at gunpoint on Wednesday night from the road separating Sectors 79 and 80. The incident took place around 9:30 pm.
The victim, Mohit Verma (31), went to purchase some eggs from the street vendor. He stopped his Suzuki Dzire near a vendor and suddenly three carjackers came from an open area alongside the road. He was just sitting on the driver’s seat. Just when he was about to start his car, one of the miscreants brandished a pistol at Mohit. He was asked to come out of the vehicle. The carjackers thrashed him before taking away his car at gunpoint. The miscreants fled towards the airport road.

Mohit immediately called his cousin Abhishek who informed the police about the incident. The police arrived and started the investigation. It questioned from the vendors present at the spot, besides Mohit. One of the vendors told that they didn’t notice anybody there before the incident. They must have arrived at that time only.
