The Central Government has once again invited the farmer bodies to Delhi on December 3 for another round of meeting to resolve differences over the new agriculture laws.
In this regard, former Union Minister Vijay Sampla tweeted “the Central Government has invited the farmers’ organizations for a meeting on December 3, I hope it will yield good results.” The meeting will be held at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi.
The Food Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey has also sent the invitation to the farmer bodies on behalf of Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. Food Minister Piyush Goyal is also expected to be present in the meeting.
It may be recalled that earlier the Central Government had called a farmers’ meeting on November 13. The meeting between the Union Agriculture Minister and the Railway Minister with the farmers’ leaders in Delhi on the Union Agriculture Laws did not yield any tangible results.
After which the farmers decided to continue the day and night dharnas at offices of corporate companies, Reliance petrol pumps and toll plazas.
Punjab on Monday had lifted the nearly two-month-long rail blockade, allowing the resumption of train services to and from Punjab.
