Coronavirus India: Amid criticism over "faulty ventilators" under PM Cares Fund, the government of India on Thursday stated that media reports suggesting GoI supplied ventilators (under PM-CARES) to GGS Medical College and Hospital, Faridkot, lying unused as a result of technical glitches not resolved due to poor aftersales support by manufacturers. It stated that these reports seem to be unfounded, not having full information. After successful installation and commissioning, these ventilators were provided with the Final Acceptance Certificate by the hospital authorities, the Government said. It stated that BEL engineers visited GGSMCH, Faridkot, again on May 12 and made 5 ventilators functional only by replacing a few consumables and demonstrated their optimum performance to the hospital authorities.
