Olympic finalists Belgium came from behind twice to beat Pakistan 4-2 for its first win in the 37th and farewell edition of Champions Trophy Hockey Tournament at Breda in the Netherlands on Friday. The win puts Belgium in line for the bronze medal game. However, it will, also depend upon the outcome of remaining two pool games - between India and the Netherlands and Argentina and Australia - scheduled for tomorrow. On both occasions, Belgium quickly came up with equalizers, first in the 36th minute and the second in 39th minute. Three goals came up within three minutes. Two of these were by Belgium. It was Briels who scored the first goal for Belgium in the 36th minute and three minutes later it was the turn of Keusters to restore parity and nullify the lead Aleem Bilal's second goal had given to Pakistan. In the 50th minute, Charlier put Belgium ahead from a penalty corner. Van Aubel rounded up the tally with a brilliant field goal in the 53rd minute. Belgium had played drawn games against Australia, India and Argentina besides losing to the Netherlands. Yesterday, Pakistan had surprised Olympic champions Argentina 4-1 for its first and only win of the tournament. It lost its remaining games against India, Australia, Belgium and the Netherlands. Pakistan will now play for fifth and sixth position.
