Coronavirus Outbreak: Chandigarh extends summer vacations till further orders

Chandigarh Administration on Thursday extended the summer vacations in all the government and government-aided schools in the wake of coronavirus pandemic. The vacations in the schools will continue until further orders. Earlier, the vacations were announced from April 15 to May 15. On the other hand, the Panjab University examination department has reopened after almost 51 days with 33 percent of staff. The controller of the examination held a meeting with the staff of the examination and the secrecy branch. Meanwhile, the department of examination also declared that the results of BA (Hons) economics (1st year) and BSc (Hons) Chemistry (third semester). The examination department of the university has also started the process of preparation for examination of the current session. Earlier on Thursday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal stated that "We had sought suggestions from people, we have received more than 5 lakh suggestions. Based on these suggestions, we will send a proposal to the Centre. Most have suggested that the schools and educational institutes should stay closed till summer vacations." Coronavirus in Chandigarh

In Chandigarh, the total number of coronavirus cases has been increasing. In fact, the Chandigarh tally is quite closer to the 200-mark. Meanwhile, the Bapu Dham Colony in Sector 26 has reported the highest number of COVID-19 positive cases in the UT. -PTC News
