Chandigarh reports first positive case of coronavirus

A young female, resident of Chandigarh has been tested positive for coronavirus (COVID 19), as per the report received from the Department of Virology, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, on Thursday. As per the report, she had travelled to England. This is the first confirmed case of coronavirus in Chandigarh.

Section 144 imposed in Rajasthan

In the wake of coronavirus, Section 144 (prohibiting assembly of more than 4 people in an area) has been imposed across the state, to avoid gathering of people.

CBSE, JEE Mains exam rescheduled

Meanwhile, all the ongoing examinations of CBSE for Classes 10th & 12th, scheduled between March 19 and 31, shall be rescheduled after March 31, CBSE Secretary Anurag Tripathy said. Likewise, the JEE mains examination should be rescheduled and new date will be announced on March 31 after re-assessment of the situation since the examination may require travel by examinees to different towns and the dates may clash with rescheduled CBSE, other board exams, Ministry of Human Resource and Development was quoted by ANI.

PM Modi reviews efforts to contain COVID 19

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting to review the ongoing efforts to contain COVID 19. Meanwhile, the ways to further strengthen India’s preparedness were discussed. This includes further enhancing testing facilities.
