After almost 9 years, the Chandigarh Police is planning to introduce the e-challan system through which the violators can pay traffic fines on the spot. As per the e-challan system, the violators will be no longer have to visit the Traffic lines in Sector 29. publive-imageEarlier, the violators had to visit traffic lines to pay the fine but now it will be conducted by the traffic cops on the spot. Surely, this will reduce the crowd at the Traffic Lines and will also avoid long queues to pay the fine.

publive-image Reportedly, the traffic cops will be having e-challan machines. It will also produce the history of challans along with the payment status of the fine. Traffic Rules A police official said that the on-spot payment of the fine will be cashless as it will have to be paid using debit or credit card. The official said that the police would need documents only when the violator is not able to pay on the spot.
