Chandigarh Girl Anjum Moudgil shoots Silver at Shooting World Cup

Anjum Moudgil won her first International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup medal by bagging silver in the Women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions (3P)  event at the ongoing ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun stage in Guadalajara, Mexico. On day six of competition, Anjum shot brilliantly to finish behind China’s Ruijiao Pei 455.4 to 454.2 after the 45-shot final. She finished behind China's Ruijiao Pei who produced a score of 455.4 after the 45-shot final. China's Ting Sun claimed the bronze medal, finishing with a score of 442.2. This was India's eighth medal of the competition and the first silver after having taken three gold and four bronze medals already, for their best ISSF World Cup performance by far, till date. Anjum Moudgil is a 20 year old rifle shooter from the city beautiful Chandigarh. She started competitive shooting in 2009 and competes in three events being 10m Air Rifle, 50m 3 Position and 50m Prone. Anjum has been a part of the Indian Shooting Team since 2010. Having represented India in 10 international competitions so far, she has made the country proud by bagging 7 international medals out of which one is an Individual bronze at the Asian Air Gun Shooting Championship, Kuwait 2014. Anjum has been selected to represent India at the prestigious 51st World Shooting Championship being held in Spain in September, 2014. She will be participating in two events. -PTC News-
