Girl students in Chandigarh lauded Telangana police for killing four accused in the rape and murder case of a veterinary doctor in an encounter on Friday morning. When the police brought the accused to the crime scene as part of the investigation, they allegedly attacked the police with sticks, snatched their weapons and opened fire. At this, police officials said they opened retaliatory fire and killed the accused. Two policemen were injured in the encounter and were rushed to hospital. Police also seized two weapons from the accused, whose bodies have been shifted to the local government hospital for postmortem.
