Chandigarh: Muslim organisations stage protest against Citizenship Amendment Act [VIDEO]

The muslim organisations staged a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) at Sector 20 in Chandigarh, on Thursday. The Citizenship Amendment Bill was passed in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha of the Parliament, earlier this month. Watch it here: Meanwhile, the protests erupted over CAA and NRC across the nation. However, the CAA protests left the national capital shattered. Jamia Millia Islamia University students staged protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Allegedly, the police forces thrashed the students, while many of the buses and vehicles were set ablaze. Likewise, the Universities across the country started protesting in support of Jamia students. Debate, discussion and dissent are essential parts of democracy but, never has damage to public property and disturbance of normal life been a part of our ethos." "The need of the hour is for all of us to work together for the development of India and the empowerment of every Indian, especially the poor, downtrodden and marginalised.
