It is now allowing many luxury car enthusiasts in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh to get their hands on Luxurious cars at a huge discount. A resident of Chandigarh recently purchased a used Audi A4 for rupees 10 lakh from Delhi. If someone purchases the same registered car in Chandigarh, it would cost around 14 lakh. Another Chandigarh Resident bought Mercedes E Class for Rs 11 lakh from Delhi, which would have cost 15 lakh if purchased in Chandigarh. This happens when Natioanl Green Tribunal (NGT) banned diesel vehicles which are no more than 10 years old in Delhi. The ban aims at checking the deteriorating air quality in Delhi. According to one survey, there are around two lakh private diesel cars registered in Delhi which are close to 10 years old. And according to the used car dealers in the region, the demand of Delhi’s used Diesel cars has gone up by 30% in Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana in the recent times. The life span of these luxury cars in 15 years in these regions. People in Chandigarh prefer buying these used luxurious cars as there are better quality roads here in Chandigarh which means overall quality of the car is better. Jaswinder Singh, a Chandigarh-based used car dealer said that the low price is driving the demand for Delhi-registered cars.
