Chd-Shimla heli-taxi: 2 months old among passengers in the enthralling ride
Chd-Shimla heli-taxi begins, Himachal tourism welcomes passengers
The travel distance between Shimla and Chandigarh was reduced to just 20 minutes with the launch of a heli-taxi service here on Monday.
The state government in association with helicopter service operator Pawan Hans Ltd launched a to and fro heli-taxi service on the Chandigarh-Shimla route. Each sortie will fly 19 passengers with a minimum fare of Rs 2,999 per person. It will initially ply twice a week, Monday and Friday.
A traditional welcome water salute was given to helicopter at chandigarh on its first arrival.
Heli services was inaugurated with ribbon cutting & lamp lighting ceremony followed by cake cutting by Sh. Vineet Chauwdhry Cheif Secretary Himachal Pradesh, Sh. B K Agrawal - Secretary Home, Himachal Pradesh, Sh. Suneel Dutt, CEO, CHIAL, Wg. CDR SK Singh-SATCO, IAF, Sh. Sumit Sharam CASO, CISF, Sh. HS BAL SHO Airport, Sh. Deepesh Joshi PRO CHIAL, Sh. Anil Taneja AGM Himachal tourism.
Chief Secretary, Himachal Sh. Vineet Chauwdhry handed over the first boarding card to first passengers sh. kuldeep and Ragini gupta.
A 2 month old little angel miss Aarya Arjun was also traveling with her Mother Dr. Sylvie and her grand mother. Pawanhans and Himachal tourism welcomed each passenger traditionally with Himachal hat.
Helicopter took off with 20 passenger and one infant passenger from chandigarh at 0900 AM.
Initially this heli service is available on each manday and friday between Shimla-chandigarh-shimla and its min. Fare is 2999.00. After response Authority may decide to increase frequency of helicopter.
Deepesh Joshi, PRO said “Pawanhans has opened a ticket counter at chandigarh Airport also. Passenger can buy heli taxi service ticket from Pawanhans official website and airport ticketing counter”
Sh. Suneel Dutt , CEO, CHIAL said ‘’ initial response from the passenger is very good, all ticket has already been booked, Pawanhans may increase the frequency of heli taxi after Response, this heli taxi is promoting hill tourism and connecting Chandigarh, Punjab , Haryana with in 20 min.’
