'Chetna March' begins from Sri Akal Takht Sahib on the 357th Birth Anniversary of Baba Jiwan Singh

'Chetna March' begins from Sri Akal Takht Sahib on the 357th Birth Anniversary of Baba Jiwan Singh, here on Monday. The march started from Sri Akal Takht Sahib  this morning in Amritsar and will go till Khalsa Jaho Jalal and end on September 4. Baba Jivan Singh was born as Jaita to father Sadanand and mother Premo in 1649. He had brought the head of ninth Sikh master Guru Teg Bahadur, who was executed at Delhi on the orders of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, to Anandpur Sahib, traveling a distance of 483 kilometres. He had cut the head of his own father and placed it where the head of Guru Teg Bahadur was found, to rescue guru's severed head. To recognize his services, Guru Gobind Singh honoured him with title of "Rangreta Guru ke Beta." -PTC News
