CM BADAL TERMS ‘AAWAZ -E-PUNJAB’ FRONT AS A PACK OF 'DISGRUNTLED AND OPPORTUNIST POLITICAL LEADERS' WITHOUT ANY IDEOLOGICAL COMMITMENT

Lambi (Sri Muktsar Sahib), September 2- Terming the newly constituted ‘Aawaz -e-Punjab’ front as a pack of 'disgruntled and opportunist political leaders' without any ideological commitment, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today said that rather than being another front in political arena this would hardly have any impact on state polity. Addressing the public gatherings during  Sangat Darshan program in Lambi assembly segment here today, the Chief Minister said the people have time and again reposed faith in pro-people and development oriented policies of SAD-BJP alliance which was committed for giving fillip to overall development of state. He said while this front was brainchild of ‘fugitive’ leaders who want to satiate their lust for power, the SAD-BJP alliance has been dedicatedly serving the people since last many decades. Taking a jibe on the front, Mr. Badal said that many more such mushrooms would crop up in state in coming poll season but people would extend their support only to alliance. Reiterating that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was like empty vessel which makes loud noise, the Chief Minister dared Kejriwal & Co. to list even a single pro - people initiative taken by their government in Delhi. He said it was on record that AAP government in Delhi has not fulfilled even a single promise made to people during polls. Mr. Badal said that AAP was just a party of hollow slogans and false promises adding that nothing good for the state and its people could be expected from these people. He said that while on one hand Delhi government headed by Mr. Arvind Kejriwal has done nothing for weaker and underprivileged sections of society but on the other hand SAD-BJP alliance government in the state has taken several pro - poor initiatives like Atta-Dal, pension, shagun, Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Beema Yojna, Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme and others to safeguard the interests of poor and needy. Coming down heavily on AAP leader Mr. Bhagwant Mann for equating the beneficiaries of Atta-Dal scheme with beggars, the Chief Minister said that this reflected the parochial mindset of AAP leadership. He said that it was the bounden duty of every state government to take care of the needy and underprivileged sections of society adding that SAD-BJP alliance government was working on concept of welfare of all to serve the masses. However, Mr. Badal said that AAP leadership lacked such sympathetic approach towards people and were vying for political power just to enjoy its fruits rather than serving the people. Citing example of Delhi Minister Mr. Sandeep Kumar who resigned recently after CD controversy, the Chief Minister said that this incident has exposed the real face of AAP which claims itself to a party with high moral value and character. Mr. Badal demanded registration of a criminal case against the sacked AAP Minister in Delhi. He said that the shocking revelations of CD against the Minister had made every Indian shameful and strict punishment should be ensured against the Minister for this misconduct. Assailing the Congress party for anti-Punjab stance, the Chief Minister said that people of state would never forgive this party for hatching a conspiracy to rob our waters by planning and executing construction of Satluj Yamuna Link (SYL) canacl. Mr. Badal said that every Congressman from state owes a responsibility for meting out this grave injustice with the state. “It is unfortunate that when the then Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi had came to lay foundation of this canal at that time Captain Amarinder Singh had enthusiastically welcomed him for this work” he added. The Chief Minister said that even the AAP was following the footprints of Congress by adopting anti Punjab stance. He said that  affidavit by Delhi government headed by AAP in Supreme Court on SYL issue termed Punjab’s stand on issue as unconstitutional and anti - national. Mr. Badal  said that as Mr. Arvind Kejriwal hailed from Haryana so he was naturally inclined towards safeguarding the interests of his state and wanted to snatch the waters of Punjab to benefit his own state. Later on Interacting with the media persons at village Roranwali, the Chief Minister said that the entire work to preserve the glorious cultural heritage of the state has been undertaken by the SAD-BJP alliance government. Assailing Captain Amarinder Singh for issuing baseless statements, he said that during his stint as Chief Minister Captain has done nothing for preserving our culture. Mr. Badal rather than making any effort to upkeep the glorious heritage of state the Congress party headed by Captain has tormented psyche of every Punjabi by attacking our religious institutions. Condemning the attack on media by AAP leaders, the Chief Minister said that this was just the beginning and more such would follow in the coming time. He said that the AAP leadership was totally ignorant about democratic norms due to which they were showing scant respect towards the values associated by it. “AAP is a band of entertainers who are least bothered about respecting the basic ethos of democracy” added Mr. Badal. During Sangat Darshan in village Bhaagu, Vanwalla Annu, Panjaawa, Sikhanwala, Fatuhi Khera, Roranwali and others, the Chief Minister disbursed developmental grants to the Panchayats. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Chairman Punjab Agro Jathedar Dyal Singh Kolianwali, SGPC Member Jathedar Bicker Singh Channu, senior Akali leader Mr. Satinderjeet Singh Manta, District Coordinator SAD Mr. Avtar Singh Vanwalla, Director Punjab State Tube Well Corporation Mr. Harmesh Singh Khuddian, Member Punjab State women Commission Bibi Veer Pal Kaur Tarmala, his Special Principal Secretary Mr. KJS Cheema, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Sumit Jaranghal and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh.
