Dera Baba Nanak (Gurdaspur), October 26 - Terming the newly formed Akhand Akali Dal as a branch of the Congress party, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today said that the sole purpose of this Akali Dal was to help the Congress party by weakening the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). Interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of Sangat Darshan program in Dera Baba Nanak assembly segment, the Chief Minister the timing of formation of this new Akali Dal was a ploy of anti - panth forces to cut the share of Akali Dal by misleading the people. He said that during last few years no one had even heard the name of the leaders of this party but now they have mushroomed up for benefitting the Congress in ensuing polls. However, Mr. Badal said that the wise voters of state would never fell prey to the false propaganda of these parties. On another query the Chief Minister said that SAD was a votary of clean and value based politics in a democratic system. He said that they were totally against the use of drugs and money power in the polls. Moreover, Mr. Badal said that the people of state also reject this type of politics due to which the polls in state were always peaceful, fair and transparent. On the ongoing war of words between state Congress Chief Captain Amarinder Singh and Delhi Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister said that both these leaders were 'paper tigers' who roar only on social media. He said that both these leaders hardly work on grass root level and were totally ignorant about the problems of masses. Mr. Badal said that both the leaders believe in living a luxurious life style and were not even aware of basic rural life. Lashing out at Captain and Kejriwal, the Chief Minister said that both the leaders we were chronic non performers who have totally failed in fulfilling the aspirations of people, whenever voted to power. He said that while Captain's regime in state was known for its non-performance and anti-people stance, Kejriwal's government in Delhi has not even fulfilled even a single promise made to people. Mr. Badal said both these leaders were now showing green pastures to people in the false hope of attaining power in the state. Coming down heavily on Captain Amarinder Singh, the Chief Minister said that debt waiver campaign of state Congress Chief was a big fraud. He said that Captain misleading people on this issue as it was impractical for any state government to waive off loan taken from banks. Mr. Badal said that Captain's tenure was best remembered for his anti - farmer stance but now he was indulging in all sorts of tantrums to win over their support by spreading such canards. Replying to another query, the Chief Minister said that in a historic decision the state government has decided to regularize the services of more than, 27000 employees of the state. He said that this was an unprecedented step as no other state government has ever taken such a pro-employee decision befitting such a large number of people. Earlier addressing the public gathering, the Chief Minister announced that the state government has released Rs 100 crore for providing burial grounds to Muslim and Christian brethren across the state. He said that the respective Deputy Commissioners of District have been asked to ensure that land for burial grounds was provided to both the communities at the earliest. Listing the major pro-people initiatives taken by the state government, the Chief Minister said that the SAD-BJP alliance government has supplied free power to the farmers of the state at a cost of Rs 50000 crore in last ten years to bail them out from agrarian crisis. He further said that Punjab was the only state in the country to provide Atta-Dal scheme to the weaker sections adding that it was also the only state to ensure free treatment for fatal diseases like Cancer and Hepatitis C. Mr. Badal said that the state government has started first of its kind scheme to provide interest free crop loans worth Rs 50000 to the farmers. He further said that in another historic decision it has been decided that all the farmers would be provided a health insurance cover of Rs.50,000 and an insurance of Rs.5 lac in case of accidental death or incapacitation of head of family. Prominent amongst other present on the occasion included former Cabinet Minister Jathedar Sucha Singh Langah, his Joint Special Principal Secretary Mr Kumar Amit, Deputy Inspector General of Police Mr AK Mittal, Deputy Commissioner Mr Pardeep Sabharwal and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr Diljinder Singh Dhillon.-
