Cold wave engulf several states after fresh snowfall in higher reaches
Many parts of the country are experiencing severe cold while Jammu & Kashmir is experiencing fresh snowfall. Since Friday evening, the winter capital, Srinagar is witnessing light to moderate snowfall.

Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy snowfall and rain in most parts of the Kashmir region. It has also issued an avalanche warning for Kulgam, Budgam, kupwara and other regions.

The administration has advised the residents not to go out in vulnerable zones to avoid any incident. Srinagar Sonamarg Gumri Road and Mughal Road are closed because of snow accumulation.
If we talk about Himachal Pradesh, it experienced fresh snowfall in upper reaches resulting in cold waves. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, heavy rain and snowfall are likely to occur in the state on Saturday. Manali, Kullu, Lahaul and Spiti continued to freeze under sub-zero temperatures.
