Commonwealth Games 2018 : Heena Sidhu wins Gold in 25m pistol India's Heena Sidhu on Tuesday clinched the gold medal in women's 25m pistol shooting at the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2018 in Gold Coast, Australia. Sidhu set a Commonwealth Games record of 38 points to clinch the gold medal. Australia's Elena Galiabovitch clinched the silver medal with a score of 35 while Malaysia's Alia Sazana Azahari claimed the bronze with 26 points. This is India's 11th gold medal at the CWG 2018 and 20th overall, including 4 silver and 5 bronze. This is Sidhu's fourth medal at the Commonwealth Games. Sidhu had also won bronze in the 10m air pistol on Sunday, finishing behind 16-year-old Manu Bhaker who won India's first Gold medal in shooting at this edition. India's other Gold came from Jitu Rai in the 10m air pistol event. Annu and Sidhu qualified for the final after shooting scores of 584 and 579 respectively in the Qualification round, where they finished second and third. Earlier, Chain Singh and Gagan Narang missed out on a medal in the final of the men's 50m rifle prone event after finishing fourth and seventh respectively. Narang had won silver in the same event in Glasgow four years ago. He is an eight-time Gold medalist and the Commonwealth Games and this will be the first edition where he will return empty handed. -PTC News-
