Complete Lockdown in Mohali, Chandigarh and Panchkula: Mohali, along with the rest of the tri-city, will remain under complete lockdown on Wednesday, on the occasion of Ram Navami, to avoid gatherings amid the surging in the coronavirus cases in the region. The decision was announced by the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday during a high-level Covid review meeting. Complete Lockdown in Mohali, Chandigarh and Panchkula: Mohali, along with tri-city, will remain under lockdown on occasion of Ram Navami. The Chief Minister said he had received a request from the Chandigarh UT advisor for a complete lockdown in Mohali, as part of a lockdown in the entire tri-city including Panchkula, and the necessary notification would be issued accordingly. Captain Amarinder Singh, ahead of Ram Navami, also appealed to people across all other districts in Punjab to avoid gatherings and large celebrations during the festival, in view of the spike in cases. Punjab CM urges Centre to send vaccine Meanwhile, Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh urged the Centre to send immediate supplies of vaccines and also give quick approval for two new Oxygen plants in the state amid concerns over depleting stocks of both. On the availability of the vaccine, the Chief Secretary told the Chief Minister that the situation was critical, with only three days of stocks left, but the Central Government has assured that more would be coming soon.
