Chandigarh: The Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (APP) are busy these days poaching on disgruntled, frustrated, rejected and outdated politicians of Punjab hoping to gain some credence to sail them through in the impending assembly elections. Stating this here today, Shiromani Akali Dal spokesman and MP Prem Singh Chanddumajra said that the Congress had opened its back door channels for months to get the Bains brothesr of Ludhiana in its fold and spared no efforts to accomplish it. Strangely, Chandumajra said that on having lost in poaching game, upset Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh hit at alliance of AAP and Insaf Party of Bains brothers though he himself cherished an alliance with the duo. On getting a snub from Bains brothers, Amarinder dubbed their Insaf Party “non-descript”. It is another matter that till then he had been angling for Bains brothers and would have flaunted them as a “big catch” to bolster the party’s electoral prospects had Amarinder been successful in his venture, he added. The Akali leader said that while AAP is bragging of its catch from other political outfits, the Congress is boasting of inducting rejected and outdated politicians from its rivals. Chandumajra said that the Congress is making a desperate attempt to hook on remainder of Awaze-e-Punjab comprising Sidhu couple and Olympian Pargat Singh. Not only the party’s master advisor Prashant Kishore but even party’s vice president Rahul Gandhi too is making all efforts for Sidhu couple’s induction to the party hoping that these straws would help them cross the ensuing turbulent polls, he added. Evidently, both the AAP and Congress hope to thrive on those self seekers who have deserted their parties on denial of tickets or are otherwise completely frustrated and dysfunctional, asserted Chandumajra.-
