Punjab reports two more Covid-19 deaths from worst-hit district

While the total number of coronavirus cases crossed 2600-mark in Punjab, Amritsar on Monday reported two new deaths. One of them is a 78-year-old, a resident of 16 Sharma Colony in Amritsar. Diabetes Mellitus was detected as coronavirus positive in him. He was put on high flow oxygen and treatment was initiated as per the protocol. However, his health condition deteriorated and he suffered from Cardiac Arrest. The other patient was a 60-year-old male, a resident of Amritsar. He was tested positive for coronavirus and referred from a private hospital to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital. He was suffering from Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension. India reached fifth place in the list of Corona virus affected countries Upon arrival at GNDH, he was in a critical condition and put on a ventilator. After all the necessary treatment he remained in a critical condition on a ventilator and suffered Cardiac Arrest on Monday morning. Earlier on Sunday, Punjab Chief Minister said that though the state had adequate essential equipment to manage any further spread of the pandemic, he did not wish the stocks to be pulled out of storage for use as his entire focus was on saving lives.
