A 52-year-old woman, who passed away in Ludhiana on Wednesday, had tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday. The woman was a resident of Barnala. She had complained of breathlessness and high fever. She was admitted to the Fortis Hospital in Ludhiana. Meanwhile, the death toll in the state has increased to 11. Earlier in the day, A man, Parveen Kumar (59), who had tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday, succumbed to the pandemic in Jalandhar. According to the information, he was a resident of Mitha Bazaar. Reportedly, he was put on a ventilator for the past three days at Jalandhar Civil Hospital. He used to run an ayurvedic medicine centre in the city. His son is a block Congress president. Likewise, a 55-year-old man, from Chatamli village, Tehsil Morinda, who had tested positive for coronavirus, passed away. Punjab Chief Secretary KBS Sidhu shared the video of his cremation. He wrote: "Cremation of the deceased COVID 19 positive patient, 55-year-old man, at his native village Chatamali, Morinda tehsil of Ropar district was performed with the full cooperation of family members and volunteers. Coronavirus death toll in India

A total of 5,734 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported in the country out of 549 new cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry stated on Thursday during a routine press briefing. The death toll in India stands at 166 out of which 17 deaths have been reported since Wednesday. -PTC News
