The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 2197 after 39 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Friday evening. Meanwhile, the death toll due to COVID-19 in the has increased to 42 after two new deaths were reported in the state.
Ludhiana reported a new death taking the district toll to 8 while a new death was reported in Amritsar. The death toll in Amritsar has increased to 7.
As per the media bulletin issued by the Punjab Health Department on Thursday evening, Mohali reported 3 new cases of coronavirus taking the district tally to 107. Amritsar reported 12 new cases while 8 new cases were reported from Jalandhar. The total number of cases in Jalandhar and Amritsar has increased to 241 and 366, respectively.
Pathankot reported five new cases of coronavirus taking the total number of coronavirus cases in the district to 52. With four new cases in Ludhiana, the district tally has increased to 180. Gurdaspur reported 3 new cases while two new cases were reported from Moga.
One new case of COVID-19 was reported from Patiala and Ropar. A total of 3 patients were recovered from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, all three of them from Kapurthala. Meanwhile, the active cases of coronavirus in the state are 206 while a total of 1949.
