India reports 20,000+ COVID cases for 6th consecutive day

India reported a spike of 22,752 new COVID-19 cases and 482 deaths in the last 24 hours, as of Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus cases in India has increased to 7,42,417 out of which 2,64,944 are active cases, 4,56,831 cured and discharged while 20,642 died due to the pandemic, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare stated. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Wednesday stated that a total of 1,04,73,771 samples tested for COVID-19 till date. Of these, 2,62,679 samples were tested on Tuesday. A total of 16,883 COVID patients in India have been declared cured and discharged in the last 24 hours. Coronavirus : India reports 482 deaths, 22,752 cases in last 24 hours Meanwhile, the AIIMS Jodhpur and Iscon Surgicals Ltd on Tuesday launched 'Abhedya - The Aeroshield', a box equipped with various apparatus to protect health workers while providing anesthesia or suctioning to patients. Patients will be placed inside it to limit contact with health workers. The device comes with the required apparatus inside the box. It will provide safety to doctors and healthcare workers."
