India reported highest-single day spike of 28,637 new COVID-19 cases and 551 deaths in the last 24 hours, as of Sunday morning. The total number of coronavirus cases in India has increased to 8,49,553 out of which 2,92,258 are active cases, 5,34,621 cured and discharged, and 22,674 deaths, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said. Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state by the novel coronavirus in the country with more than 10,000 COVID-19 deaths and around 2.5 lakh confirmed cases. Meanwhile, India is one of the most populous countries. Everyone thought how will a country like India battle COVID-19, there were apprehensions but today the whole world is witnessing how one of the most successful battles against COVID-19 has been fought here."
