Coronavirus: Chandigarh announces 25 new containment zones
Amid a spike in coronavirus cases, the Chandigarh Administration on Monday announced 25 more containment zones in the city to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. [FACT CHECK] The new containment zones, as announced, include parts of Sector 15, 22, 28, 30A, 32D, 35D, 38A, 40C, 41B, 42B, 42C, 43B, 44B, 45C, 46A, 49A, part of Sector 63 (Block 8 and 16) and part of village Khuda Ali Sher. Meanwhile, frequent sanitization will be undertaken in these areas by the municipal authorities while the people have been asked to maintain social distancing norms, wear masks and follow hand hygiene. Coronavirus Punjab The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 2,34,602 after 2,914 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Monday evening. Of new cases, Ludhiana reported 343 fresh cases, Jalandhar reported 360, Patiala 290, SAS Nagar 286, Amritsar 357, Gurdaspur 266, Bathinda 74, Hoshiarpur 190, Ferozepur 19, Pathankot 43, Sangrur 48, Kapurthala 151, Faridkot 79, Muktsar 4, Fazilka 5, Moga 8, Ropar 64, FG Sahib 65, Barnala 25, Tarn Taran 93, SBS Nagar 113, and Mansa 31.
