Confirmed coronavirus cases in Chandigarh spikes to 5, Section 144 imposed

Chandigarh has reported five confirmed coronavirus cases so far. First, a 23-year-old woman, who was tested positive for coronavirus in Chandigarh on Thursday. Meanwhile, three individuals (including her mother, brother, and cook) who came in contact with the patient have also tested positive. According to the information, the 23-year-old woman had returned from England. A lady who was earlier admitted in PGI (returned from the UK), has also been tested positive. Coronavirus, which has been declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO), has claimed 5 lives in India so far. Meanwhile, section 144 has been imposed in Chandigarh.

No Internet Suspended

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh took to Twitter and wrote: "I request Punjabis not to share unsubstantiated news & information as it may create unnecessary panic. The following content that claims Punjab government is shutting down internet services is fake and action will be taken against anyone involved in spreading misleading information."

Kanika Kapoor tests positive for coronavirus

Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor has tested positive for coronavirus in Lucknow. She had returned from London to Lucknow.
