Coronavirus: Chandigarh Administration orders complete 'lockdown'

In the wake of coronavirus spread, the Chandigarh Administration has ordered a complete lockdown in the Union Territory. As per the report, the Chandigarh Administration has decided to impose certain restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID 19. Till March 31, all the non-essential establishments including offices, schools, colleges, factories and other business establishments, etc shall remain closed. Meanwhile, all public transport shall also remain suspended. However, essential services including Vegetable Shops, Ration Shops, Chemists, etc shall remain open. For now, the people have been advised not to believe in rumors and take all preventive steps as being communicated from time to time. All are also advised to stay indoors and not to come out unless there is urgency.

Lockdown in Punjab as well

Punjab Government on Sunday declared a complete 'lockdown' in the state till March 31 in the view of coronavirus spread. Meanwhile, the Punjab Government also issued a list of essential commodities as per the provisions in the Essential Commodities Act 1955 as applicable in the state of Punjab include five items groups food grains, edible oils, vegetables, and other items. Further added essential commodities are masks and hand sanitizer. Coronavirus in India

While 341 cases of coronavirus have been reported across the country, the numbers are likely to increase. India has reported 6 deaths so far, one each in Delhi, Karnataka, Punjab, Bihar and two from Mumbai. -PTC News
