Chandigarh reports 4 new cases of coronavirus; active cases in UT rise to 87
The total number of coronavirus cases in Chandigarh has increased to 415 after the Union Territory reported 4 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. According to the information, a 48-year-old woman, a resident of Mauli Jagran, has been admitted to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16. A 9-year-old woman of Sector 38-C has been admitted to the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) while a 27-year-old man of Sector 29 has also been admitted to the PGIMER. Another case has been reported from Sector 38 West, where a 26-year-old woman has been admitted to the PGI. So far, the Bapu Dham Colony in Sector 26 has reported the highest number of coronavirus cases in the Union Territory. Meanwhile, there is no containment zone in the city, a report stated. Earlier on Monday, the Chandigarh Administration decided to fix the COVID-19 testing upper limit at Rs 2,000 at the private SRL Diagnostics Laboratory. The existing rate of coronavirus test is Rs 4,500 while many states are charging Rs 2,400 for every test.
