Chandigarh Administration declares new Containment Zones

Amid a spike in coronavirus cases, the Chandigarh Administration has announced new containment zones on Friday.

After further study and examination, the Chandigarh Administration has declared more containment zones, keeping in mind the need for intensive screening, sanitization, and medical treatment.

The following areas have been added in the containment zone:

  • Block of 13 houses from House no. 2403 to 2413 in Mariwala Town, Manimajra, Chandigarh
  • Block of 11 houses from House no. 491 to 495 and 501 to 506 in Sector 15, Chandigarh.
  • Block of 32 flats from House no. 6445 to 6448-C and House no. 6449 to 6452-C in Sector 56, Chandigarh
  • Block of 6 houses from House no. 1613 to 1618 (Ground Floors only) in Sector 40, Chandigarh


Also, the Block of 23 flats and one garage from House no. 1185 to 1190 (Four storeyed) in Sector 46, Chandigarh, has been REMOVED from the containment zone.

The Chandigarh Administrator has directed the Director-General of Police to enforce all instructions of hygienic practices like proper wearing of masks etc. All residents must wear masks above the nose to make it more effective against the spread of infection.
