Coronavirus: Daily new cases of COVID-19 in Punjab fall below 4,000-mark

Coronavirus Punjab Updates: The daily new cases of coronavirus in Punjab have fallen below the 4,000-mark as the state on Thursday recorded 3,919 new cases of COVID-19 in 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 5,56,089. Ludhiana, once the worst-affected district of the state, continued to report a decline in new cases of COVID-19 with 411 new infections in 24 hours. Jalandhar reported 401 new cases while Bathinda recorded 344, Muktsar 313, SAS Nagar 278, Patiala 275, Fazilka 231, Kapurthala 201, Amritsar 199, Faridkot 156, and Mansa 148. Likewise, Gurdaspur recorded 137 new cases, Gurdaspur 137, Hoshiarpur 125, Pathankot 135, Sangrur 111, Ferozepur 100, Ropar 98, Tarn Taran 57, FG Sahib 56, Barnala 50, Moga 49, and SBS Nagar 39. Meanwhile, the total number of discharges in the state has increased to 4,93,854 after 5,995 new recoveries were reported in 24 hours, the Health Department stated while giving coronavirus updates about Punjab. The death toll in Punjab due to COVID-19 has increased to 14,004 after 178 fresh deaths were recorded in 24 hours. Amritsar reported 13 new fatalities, Barnala recorded 7, Bathinda 13, Faridkot 15, FG Sahib 3, Fazilka 11, Ferozpur 12, Gurdaspur 9, Hoshiarpur 2, Jalandhar 12, Kapurthala 7, Ludhiana 17, Mansa 6, SAS Nagar 4, Muktsar 7, Pathankot 7, Patiala 12, Ropar 3, Sangrur 13, SBS Nagar 2, and Tarn Taran 3.
