Coronavirus positive cases in India rise to 1,51,767; death toll 4,337

The total number of coronavirus (COVID 19) cases in India has increased to 1,51,767 after 6387 new positive cases were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Tuesday morning. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the death toll has increased to 4,167 after 170 new deaths were reported from the country in the last 24 hours. The Health Ministry was quoted by news agency ANI as saying: “Spike of 6387 new COVID-19 cases and 170 deaths in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases in the country is now at 1,51,767 including 83,004 active cases, 64,425 cured and discharged, and 4,337 deaths.” Maharashtra remains the worst-hit state with the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 54,758, followed by Tamil Nadu at 17,728 cases and Gujarat at 14,821 cases. The national capital has reported 14,465 cases of coronavirus.
