Coronavirus cases in India nears 2 lakh; 8000+ cases in last 24 hours

The total number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases has increased to 1,98,706 after 8,171 new positive cases were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Tuesday evening. The death toll in the country has also increased to 5,598 after 204 new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.  Meanwhile, there are 97,581 active cases while 95,526 patients have been cured and discharged. India has reported 8000+ cases for third consecutive days. Meanwhile, there have been major concern among the people as the centre has started a lot of movements and has issued several relaxations as well. Out 204 new deaths, Maharashtra reported 76, Delhi recorded 50 while 25 death were reported from Gujarat and 11 from Tamil Nadu. 8 COVID-19 patients died each in West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh, followed by 6 in Telangana, and 4 each in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Bhiwani MLA’s family 13 member found Covid-19 Positive Bihar and Jammu and Kashmir reported three deaths each, 2 in Andhra Pradesh, and 1 each in Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala and Uttarakhand. Also Read | Wajid Khan’s mother Razina tests positive for coronavirus Maharashtra is on the top with 2,362 deaths out of the total 5,598, followed by 1,063 deaths in Gujarat, 523 in Delhi, 358 in Madhya Pradesh and 335 in West Bengal. 217 coronavirus deaths have been reported in Uttar Pradesh so far, while 198 succumbed to the pandemic in Rajasthan, 184 in Tamil Nadu, 88 in Telangana and 64 in Andhra Pradesh. -PTC News
