Coronavirus cases in Maharashtra rise to 33, highest in India

The Maharashtra Health Department on Monday stated that one more person has been tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID 19) in Pimpri-Chinchwad, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 33 in the state, the highest in the country. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has already declared Coronavirus (COVID 19) as a global pandemic.

Coronavirus in India

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday released a list which reported that a total of 110 confirmed coronavirus cases have been reported across India, including 17 foreign nationals, as of March 11. Meanwhile, the Home Ministry has announced the coronavirus as a national disaster.

30 doctors in isolation in Kerala

In the meanwhile, 30 medics of Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, have been kept in quarantine after a doctor was tested positive for the coronavirus. The doctor, who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 had returned from Spain on March 1.

3,213 coronavirus deaths in China

On Monday, China's National Health Commission (NHC) confirmed that the coronavirus death toll in the country has surged to 3,213. Meanwhile, 16 new cases of the coronavirus have been reported in the last 24 hours. Likewise, four cases of coronavirus have been reported from Wuhan and 12 were imported cases. Assam shuts all tiger reserves, national parks

In the meanwhile, the Assam government has closed all the tiger reserves, sanctuaries and national parks from March 17 to 29, in the wake of coronavirus. -PTC News
