Six States including Punjab continue to report surge in India's daily coronavirus cases

Coronavirus Updates India: Amid growing concerns over the current situation of coronavirus in India, six states including Punjab continued to report a surge in daily new cases of COVID-19. Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Gujarat are the six states that have been reporting an upsurge in daily new cases of coronavirus. [FACT CHECK] Coronavirus Updates India: 6 states including Punjab continued to report a surge in daily new cases of COVID-19. 78.56 percent of the new coronavirus cases are reported from these 6 states, the Union Health Ministry said while giving updates about the current situation in India. India on Tuesday reported 56,211 new cases in the last 24 hours. Maharashtra reported the highest daily new cases at 31,643 followed by Punjab with 2,868 while Karnataka reported 2,792 new cases of coronavirus. Meanwhile, India’s total Active Caseload has reached 5,40,720 on Tuesday. With this, India’s present active caseload now stands at 4.47 percent of India’s total Positive Cases. Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, and Chhattisgarh cumulatively account for 79.64 percent of the total active cases in the country. Union Health Minister Dr Hardh Vardhan said that there were 430 districts in the country where not a single case of coronavirus has been reported in the last 28 days.
