With 37,724 new cases, India's coronavirus tally rises to 11,92,915

India reported a spike of 37,724 cases of coronavirus and 648 deaths in the last 24 hours, as of Wednesday morning. The total number of COVID-19 positive cases has increased to 11,92,915 out of which 4,11,133 are active cases, 7,53,050 have been cured and discharged while 28,732 have died due to the pandemic, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) stated that the total number of samples tested up to July 21 is 1,47,24,546 out of which 3,43,243 samples were tested on Tuesday. India reported 28,472 COVID -19 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the highest recoveries in a single day so far. The total number of COVID recoveries has increased to 7,53,050. Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state with a total of 3,27,031 cases of COVID-19 out of which 12,276 patients died due to the pandemic. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu is the second worst-hit state with 1,80,643 cases while Delhi is the third-worst hit state with 1,25,096 cases so far.
