India reported a single-day spike of 48,661 new coronavirus cases and 705 deaths in the last 24 hours, as of Sunday morning. A total of 36,145 COVID patients in India were declared cured and recovered in the last 24 hours. publive-image The total number of COVID-19 positive cases has increased to 13,85,522 out of which 4,67,882 are active cases, 8,85,577 have been cured, and discharged while 32,063 have died due to the pandemic, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.

publive-image Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) stated that the total number of COVID-19 samples tested up to July 25 is 1,62,91,331 out of which 4,42,263 samples were tested on Saturday. Also, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare had stated that in the last 24 hours, around 4,42,031 samples were tested. "For the first time, Government labs set a new record of testing 3,62,153 samples. Private labs also scaled a new high of 79,878 samples tested in a single day," it added.
