With more than 48,000 corona cases in last 24 hours, India's tally rises to 15.31 lakh

The total number of coronavirus cases in India has increased to 15.31 lakh after 48,513 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Wednesday morning. India recorded 768 new deaths in the last 24 hours. The total number of COVID-19 active cases in India is 5,09,447, while a total of 9,88,030 COVID patients have been declared cured and discharged. Likewise, the death toll in India has increased to 34,193 deaths, the Ministry of Health said on Wednesday. As coronavirus cases in India continue to rise rapidly, India is now just behind the United States and Brazil in terms of the total number of cases. India overtook Russia to take the third spot in the list of worst-hit nations in the world affected by the coronavirus. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the total number of coronavirus samples tested up to July 28 is 1,77,43,740 out of which 4,08,855 samples were tested on Tuesday. The total number of corona cases in India is 15.31 lakhs Two days earlier, India recorded the highest-single day spike in the number of coronavirus cases with a record of 49,931 new cases in a single day.
