Coronavirus India Cases Today: India’s COVID tally has crossed 16 lakh-mark with the highest single-day spike of 55,079 positive cases and 779 deaths in the last 24 hours, as of Friday morning. A total of 37,223 COVID patients in India have been declared cured and discharged.

The total number of coronavirus cases has increased to 16,38,871 out of which 5,45,318 are active cases, 10,57,806 have been cured and discharged while 35,747 have died due to the pandemic, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) stated that the total number of COVID-19 samples tested up to July 30 is 1,88,32,970 out of which 6,42,588 samples were tested on Thursday.

Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state with 1,48,454 active cases while Tamil Nadu has 57,962 active cases. Delhi has 10,743 active cases, Andhra Pradesh has 69,252, Karnataka has 69,708, Uttar Pradesh 32,649, West Bengal 19,900, Telangana 15,640, Gujarat 13,793, Bihar 16,845.

Likewise, Rajasthan has 11,097 active cases, Assam has 9,233, Haryana 6,497, Madhya Pradesh 6,454, Odisha 10,463, Kerala 10,074, Punjab 4,577, Jharkhand 5,888, Chattisgarh 2,789, Uttarakhand 2,993, Goa 1,657, Tripura 1,723, Puducherry 1,292, Himachal Pradesh 1,105, Manipur 829, Nagaland 936, Arunachal Pradesh 654, Ladakh 277, Chandigarh 355, Meghalaya 588, Sikim 395, Andaman and Nicobar 266 and Mizoram 174.
