India reports 90,000+ COVID-19 cases for second consecutive day

Coronavirus India Cases Today: India's coronavirus case tally has crossed the 42-lakh mark with a spike of 90,802 new cases and 1,016 deaths reported in the last 24 hours, as of Monday morning. The total number of coronavirus cases in India stands at 42,04,614 out of which 8,82,542 are active cases, 32,50,429 have been cured and discharged while 71,642 COVID patients died due to the pandemic, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said. India's total recovered cases have crossed 32.5 lakh today, with 69,564 patients being discharged in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate is now 77.31 percent. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the total number of samples tested up to September 6 is 4,95,51,507 out of which 7,20,362 samples were tested on Sunday. COVID-19: India becomes second worst-hit nation in the world Meanwhile, the metro services, which were suspended since March, have resumed with Covid-19 norms in line. The passengers have been asked to maintain social distancing and wear masks during the journey. Metro rail helps save time and money. Passengers need to take all precautions while traveling. Service hours should be gradually extended."
