Coronavirus Omicron India Highlights: Amid growing concerns over the Omicron variant of Covid-19, India on Thursday reported 90,928 fresh coronavirus cases, 19,206 recoveries, and 325 deaths in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the daily positivity rate has increased to 6.43 percent while the active cases stand at 2,85,401. The total recoveries have reached 3,43,41,009 and the death toll has climbed to 4,82,876. 2:00 pm | Dr Chandra from Delhi said, "Don't increase the burden...causing hospital beds to be clogged like what happened in the second wave. Say we have 25 million (people) in Delhi, even if 1 percent hospitalised, Delhi NCR cannot handle it, and we cannot have double jeopardy of health care workers also collapsing." 13:50 pm | Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil said that "Covid guidelines are issued by the Chief Secretary and we should abide by them to keep ourselves safe from the virus.
