Coronavirus: PM Narendra Modi to interact with Chief Ministers on Monday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be holding a meeting, via video conference, with all the Chief Ministers on Monday at 3 pm to discuss the prevailing coronavirus situation in the country. PMO India said in a tweet: "PM Narendra Modi to hold the 5th meeting via video-conference with state Chief Ministers tomorrow afternoon at 3 PM." Earlier, the Prime Minister had earlier interacted with the Chief Ministers four times over the coronavirus situation via video conferencing. The review meeting comes days ahead of the scheduled ending of the nationwide lockdown. The current lockdown was imposed to contain the spread of coronavirus, which is scheduled to end on May 17. Meanwhile, the COVID-19 count in India crossed 60,000 on Sunday, with Maharashtra being the worst-affected state due to the infection so far, as per the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The total number of confirmed cases in the country has increased to 62,939, including 19,358 patients who have been cured and discharged or migrated, according to the Ministry. The total number of active cases in the country stands at 41,472. Meanwhile, the number of deaths in the country due to the novel coronavirus reached 2,109 on Sunday.
