Coronavirus: India records more than 2 lakh cases in 24 hours
Coronavirus India Updates: India on Thursday reported more than 2 lakh cases of coronavirus in 24 hours for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic started in the country in March last year.
India reported 2,00,739 new COVID-19 cases, 93,528 discharges, and 1,038 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry.

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus cases in India has increased to 1,40,74,564 while total recoveries have gone up to 1,24,29,564 and active cases reached 14,71,877.
The death toll in the country has increased to 1,73,123. A total of 11,44,93,238 people have been administered the COVID-19 vaccine so far.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 26,20,03,415 samples have been tested for COVID-19 up to April 14, 2021, including 13,84,549 samples that were tested on Wednesday.
Maharashtra, the worst-affected state reported 58,952 fresh cases, taking the tally to 35,78,160 while the death toll reached 58,804 with 278 new fatalities. The active case count in the state has increased to 6,12,070.
Chhattisgarh recorded 14,250 new COVID-19 cases and 120 fatalities in 24 hours. The infection tally has increased to 4,86,244 while the death toll has gone up to 5,307. The number of active cases of the disease in the state stands at 1,18,636.
Coronavirus cases in Punjab have increased to 2,82,505 after the state reported 3329 new cases in 24 hours. The death toll has increased to 7672 with 63 new fatalities reported in 24 hours.
