Coronavirus: India reports less than 1 lakh daily new cases for 2nd successive day
Coronavirus India Updates: India on Wednesday recorded less than 1 lakh daily new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours for two continuous days now.
As per the coronavirus updates given by the Union Health Ministry, India reported 92,596 new COVID-19 cases, 1,62,664 discharges, and 2,219 deaths in the last 24 hours.

With this, the total number of coronavirus cases in the country has increased to 2,90,89,069 while discharges have gone up to 2,75,04,126.

The death toll in the country has reached 3,53,528 while active cases stood at 12,31,415. As of now, a total of 23,90,58,360 people have been administered the COVID-19 vaccine.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 37,01,93,563 samples have been tested for COVID-19 up to June 8, 2021, of which 19,85,967 samples were tested on Tuesday.
India has been witnessing a continuous fall in the active caseload. The country’s Active Caseload on Wednesday stands at 12,31,415. The Caseload is below 20 lakhs for nine successive days.
While on one side testing has been enhanced across the country, a continued decline in weekly case positivity is noticed. The weekly Positivity Rate is currently at 5.66 percent while the Daily Positivity rate stands at 4.66 percent today. It has remained less than 10 percent for 16consecutive days now.
